The Gullfire is a stealth glider used by the United States military as of the 1990s. Its primary roles are implied to be covert insertion and intelligence gathering. As a result, it is intended to be able to land in very confined areas (such as atop one of the Twin Towers). The Twin Towers landing site is a semi-regular method of personnel insertion and retrieval for USPF intel operatives who, on occasion, have to infiltrate Manhattan Island, which helps explain why the USPF has the Gullfire in its inventory.
Snake Plissken has flown the Gullfire at least twice, first over Leningrad during his special forces days and later when infiltrating Manhattan island.
